Japanese clay pot rice at County Hall’s new Donabe restaurant
An exclusive new little restaurant has opened inside County Hall showcasing Japanese fine dining seasonal rice culture.
Between the Bridges is a sprawling pop-up venue next to South Bank's beautiful Jubilee Gardens and a stone's throw from the London Eye. Famous for its huge central courtyard beer garden and busy programme of weekend events such as DJ sets and drag brunches, it's a lively spot all year round.
Reopening for the summer season from 17 April, this year’s edition of Between the Bridges has had an upgrade courtesy of a new food offering - the Time Out Eat Street food market.
The mini food market has been curated by Time Out Food & Drink Editor Leonie Cooper, and features a wide range of highly regarded street food vendors from around the city, including major established brands and fresh new upcoming names.
Time Out’s Eat Street market at Between the Bridges features eight different stalls in and around the central courtyard, plus two food trucks out on the Queen's Walk next to the Between the Bridges entrance.
Homeslice: Wood-fired pizzas with creative toppings and delicious dips to dab your crusts into - sold by the slice
Patty & Bun: British-bred patties served in fluffy brioche buns from the hipster favourite artisan burger brand.
Sen Noods: Ramen and east-Asian inspired noodle bowls. This is the second Sen Noods location in South Bank - you can also find them at National Theatre’s KERB at The Understudy.
Crumbled London: A Between the Bridges regular, this sweet little food truck is back, serving classic British fruit crumbles with custard.
CDMX Tacos: Based in Soho, this no-fuss taqueria offers a taste of Mexico City street food culture with a choice of tacos and quesadillas.
Rack City Ribs: Slow-cooked BBQ ribs and American-style soul food.
Dragon Cat: A huge variety of refreshing bubble teas and speciality drinks like matcha latte and taro milk. For a sweet bite, they also sell sweet Taiwanese wheelcakes – round pancake-like pastries filled with flavoured fillings such as oreo cheesecake or vanilla custard.
Rogue Sarnies: This cult sandwich shop from Hackney comes south of the river for the first time. Their USP is creating mouthwatering combos (try the infamous 'Lord Nelson') and then baking the sandwich rolls in a wood-fired oven.
Between the Bridges is open from 17 April until 21 December.
Open Tue–Thu 12pm–11pm, Fri 12pm–12am, Sat 11am–12am, Sun 11am–11pm. Closed Mon.
