Queen Elizabeth Hall roof garden has reopened
The Southbank Centre’s wonderful rooftop wildflower garden has reopened for the spring and summer season.
Frequently described as ‘London’s biggest pop-up beer garden’, Between the Bridges is a massive pop-up venue right in the middle of the South Bank, with more than a dozen different bars and food trucks to choose from, plus a busy live events programme that includes drag brunches and DJ nights.
For summer 2024, Between the Bridges is popping up in South Bank once again, bringing with it a busy programme of parties and events, plus a huge screen in their central courtyard that will be screening major sporting events including the Euro Cup and Wimbledon.
What’s on the entertainment line-up?
Between the Bridges’ raucous monthly Drag Brunch events are back for summer 2024, bringing to the floor some of the biggest names in UK drag such as Bimini and Baga Chipz.
Also returning with a regular monthly slot on the first Sunday monthly is SoLo Craft Fair, representing 60+boutique makers and designers from across south London.
When it comes to evening entertainment, there’s an eclectic mix of cult favourites on the lineup. Look out for the return of the infamous Barrioke, the Taylor Swift club night Swiftoggedon and the tweed-clad, 10-piece brass powerhouse, Old Dirty Brasstards who will be opening the Summer 2024 season on Friday 3 May with a non-stop noughties indie set.
What’s on the menu?
There’s a variety of sponsored bars serving local and mainstream craft beers and cocktails to choose from plus a choice of food trucks in the central courtyard.
This year’s street food vendors include Bang Bang Burgers, Lebanese cuisine by Lil’ Watan, birria tacos by Meathead, spicy Thai street food by Krapow, La Cocinita’s churros, seafood sandwiches by Bait and Freewheelin’ pizzas.
When’s it open?
Between the Bridges officially opens for the summer on Thursday 2 May. On the weekend before the opening (Thu 25 April - Sat 27 Apr), Between the Bridges hosts this year's Brew//LDN beer festival, one of Britain's biggest craft beer festivals.
