This chic wine bar and restaurant at the National Theatre is a sister venue to Peckham's acclaimed rooftop wine bar Forza.
On the drinks menu is an expertly curated selection of interesting and accessible natural wines and a regularly changing seasonal house cocktail list featuring drinks like frozen peach margaritas and cherry negronis. While the food menu is a ‘sort of Italian’ selection of small plates such as cauliflower fritti with aioli, mozzarella with figs and hazelnuts, pancetta potato cakes and pickled cabbage. For dessert Forza’s signature Soft Serve is a must and make sure to try the famous custardo.
The 160-cover indoor and outdoor space takes up the north-west terrace of South Bank’s famous Brutalist landmark overlooking the river and the Queen’s Walk. On warm evenings the terrace is a magical spot to sit and relax while soaking up the South Bank atmosphere and golden hour sunsets over the water.
Inside the seating is split between banquettes and high-top tables with a great 24-seater long table for private dining tucked away in an intimate section of the balcony surrounded by greenery.
Forza Wine's festive season menu is designed for sharing and gives you and your group the chance to try a bit of everything that Forza offers! Intended to feed a table of four the 'Christmas Whole Menu' costs £45 per person and includes snacks, small plates and chunkier winter dishes including confit turkey leg with parsnips and pancetta, mozzarella bitter leaf and orange salad, aubergine parmo and parmesan cauliflower fritti. For dessert there's a Christmas version of the famous Custardo or sticky toffee pudding soft serve.
