South Bank’s summer pop-ups are back!
South Bank’s favourite summer pop-ups are reopening for the season this April.
Don’t miss the unique opportunity to step inside and explore the historic Lambeth Palace this summer.
For the past ten years Lambeth Palace, the historic home of the Archbishops of Canterbury, has opened its garden gates every summer to raise money for local charities. This year in addition to its Open Garden days, the Palace will open its doors as part of the Lambeth Palace Heritage Open Palace Experience (HOPE) Days.
The HOPE open days will present visitors with the opportunity to enjoy guided tours of the Palace’s most historic and significant spaces. Highlights of the tour include the chance to explore the State Rooms, the stunning Guard Room halls dating back to the 14th Century, the sacred Crypt Chapel and the Great Hall that was built in 1663 by Archbishop William Juxon.
The HOPE Days are described as more than just a tour. Hosted by some of the many incredible local charities that the Palace supports, they are also envisaged as “a celebration of generosity, hospitality, and community”.

The Palace will be open from 12pm to 4pm (last entry at 3pm).
Visitors will need to book tickets in advance to join a HOPE open day tour. Tickets will be announced in April 2025 and available here on the Lambeth Palace website.
Lambeth Palace’s impressive gardens will be opening again on Monday 19 May from 5pm-8pm as part of this year’s National Garden Scheme open days programme. Tickets cost £7 and are available here.
