The annual National Lottery Open Week is an opportunity for venues across the country who receive support from the National Lottery fund to give back to lottery players by offering free entry and discounts tickets.
The 2025 National Lottery Week runs from Saturday March 15 to Sunday March 23 and there are scores of museums across the UK joining in this year, including the Florence Nightingale Museum right here in South Bank.
Located in the St Thomas’ Hospital, this deceptively large museum presents an in-depth look at the life, work and legacy of Florence Nightingale. From her interest in animals and the therapeutic benefits of owning pets, to Miss Nightingale’s pioneering work in statistics, her trailblazing leadership treating the war wounded in the battlefields of Crimea and her long-lasting impact on nursing and care work across the world, this museum tells ‘the Lady with the Lamp’s remarkable story in meticulous detail.
Throughout Open Week, National Lottery players can visit the museum for free! One lottery ticket allows one adult and up to two accompanying children free entry to the museum. The museum is open Tue–Sun 10am–5pm (last entry at 4.30pm) and no advanced booking is required.
