Coming up at London Film Festival 2025!
All the biggest film premieres and events to look out for at the 69th London Film Festival!
One of the biggest and busiest train stations in the UK, Waterloo Station, and the adjoining centre The Sidings, both offer a huge array of bars, restaurants, shops and fast food options. More than a place to simply pass through on a journey, it's a popular meeting spot with plenty of reasons to stay and linger longer before hopping on your train back home.
Here’s a round-up of what’s new at the station this season.
Say farewell to summer dresses and sunglasses, autumn is here! If you’re ready to start upgrading your wardrobe to get through these in-between weather weeks of the year - head upstairs to The Balcony at Waterloo Station. Here you’ll find the beachwear has already been packed up in favour of cosy cardigans, transitional season dresses and gorgeous autumnal jumpers at High Street favourites OLIVER BONAS, MONSOON and FAT FACE.
If you’re more of an online shopper, don’t forget you can order online for free collection in store – an ideal timesaver if you’re a regular traveller through Waterloo Station!
Creators of pioneering beauty products such as the fizzing bath bomb, shower jellies, and solid shampoo bars, LUSH has a small gift shop inside Waterloo Station, located on the concourse near platforms 1–4.
Recently completely refitted, the store reopens on Friday 5 September with the first 50 customers getting a special celebratory goodie bag with each purchase! Find out more about their reopening event here.
Running underneath platforms 20-24, this section of Waterloo Station was once the Eurostar tunnel and is now home to brands like Nando’s, Wetherspoons, Lucky Voice, BrewDog and Kiehl’s.
The latest new opening at The Sidings centre is STRETCH LIFE, an ‘assisted stretching’ studio where you can book a PNF (Proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation) stretch that is designed to help ease common muscle aches and pains. Stretch Life officially opens on 9 September. You can find out more about the studio and book an introductory appointment here.
Up on the balcony on the southern side of the concourse (above platforms 1-2) is the new bar WELL & BOOT. Positioning itself as more of a café-bar than a classic pub, it’s an all-day spot that serves artisanal coffee and pastries in the morning and cocktails and ‘pintxos’ (small Spanish-style bar snacks) in the afternoon and evening.
A lovely balcony set over two levels looks out over the hustle and below – a handy spot to escape the crowds for a quiet drink during the rush hour.
London-based fans of snacks like biltong and Chipniks will no doubt be familiar with SAVANNAH, the chain of South African food shops that has branches at major train stations across London and the South East.
SAVANNAH opened a new shop in Waterloo Station this summer in a small spot tucked in between Wasabi and LUSH (opposite Platforms 1–4) where you can shop a select range of classic South African snacks, soft drinks and wines.
