The National Theatre has announced its full lineup of productions showing at the National Theatre's three stages in South Bank through the rest of 2026, and there's a variety of exciting brand new plays on the bill as well as new interpretations of modern classics to look forward to. Here's the rundown of what to look out for!

WHEN: 19 Aug to 10 Oct
Cate Blanchett and Nina Hoss lead in this powerful, gripping production that blends myth with modern psychology. Focusing on identity, transformation, and the blurred line between who you are and who you pretend to be, it's set to be a compelling production packing some major star power.
WHEN: 19-26 Sep
For one week only Tiago Rodrigues brings his confronting, politically-charged production to the National Theatre. performed in its native Portuguese with English subtitles.

With bold staging and sharp humour, Caryl Churchill’s iconic play rethinks gender, power, and the impact of empire. Directed by Dominic Cooke, this new production promises to surprise, challenge and entertain, bringing fresh urgency to this daring and satirical classic.

Francesca Mills (Silent Witness) plays Little Voice, Jill Halfpenny is Mari and Paul Chuckle plays Mr Boo, in this major new production of Jim Cartwright’s modern classic, directed by Robert Hastie (who directed the NT's award-winning musical Standing at the Sky’s Edge).

This year's festive season production is an exciting new adaptation of the beloved book brings the jungle roaring to life in the South Bank. In the mangroves of the Sundarbans, wolves howl, birds soar and tigers roar. At the heart of this wild and vibrant kingdom, an unlikely child is growing up… Mowgli. For this brand new production, the story is reimagined by Anupama Chandrasekhar (The Father and the Assassin), directed by Indhu Rubasingham and featuring innovative puppetry by Finn Caldwell and Nick Barnes.
