Kids eat for free in South Bank this summer

When it comes to the summer school holidays – few areas of central London have more activities for families than South Bank!

From exciting immersive adventures like the Paddington Bear Experience and Shrek’s Adventure! to boules and bowling, speedboat rides, the Jubilee Gardens adventure playground and not forgetting those famous dancing fountains at the Southbank Centre – there’s so much fun to be had this summer.

If you’re looking for lunch, you’ll be pleased to know that almost all of South Bank’s restaurants and cafes are very welcoming to families with dedicated kids menus and high chairs for the little ones.

This year to help make the summer holidays feel more affordable, many South Bank restaurants are also running ‘Kids Eat For Free’ offers that are well worth looking out for!

Here’s a look at some great deals to snap up in August:

PizzaExpress

A reliably family-friendly chain that never fails, South Bank's branch of PizzaExpress is located right behind the Southbank Centre's Royal Festival Hall, just a short walk from the London Eye and Jubilee Gardens playground. The Piccolo Kids menu offers dough balls, a choice of kids' pizza or pasta and a dessert plus a 'bambinoccino' (frothed milk) that also comes with an activity pack to keep the kids busy.

Limin’

Limin’ at Gabriel’s Wharf is South Bank’s very own slice of the Caribbean. Serving up authentic Trinidadian cuisine in a bright and breezy atmosphere, in the summer they also open up their own little beach terrace. Dishes on the kids menu include barbecue wings and chips and Trinidadian mac and cheese.

Brasserie Blanc

The Brasserie Blanc kids menu is a real crowd-pleaser with a wide choice of classics like macaroni cheese and sausage and mash. For dessert the kids can tuck into their very own ultimate ice cream platter with tons of toppings. The kids aside, for grown-up dining the Brasserie Blanc menu always deliver with plenty of seasonal specials and plenty of Francophone influence.

BrewDog Waterloo

The massive BrewDog at The Sidings at Waterloo Station is famously a place where adults who haven't forgotten the child inside can have fun, with duckpin bowling lanes and a huge indoor slide.  A family-friendly spot, kids are allowed inside the pub too until 8pm! The kid's menu includes classics like cheese toasties, mac and cheese and breaded chicken strips and for afters there's even an ice cream van.

LEON

For fast and healthy eats on the go, you can always rely on LEON. South Bank has a branch of the healthy fast food chain located right opposite Waterloo Station on York Road, a perfectly located pitstop for families en route to South Bank's biggest family attractions such as The Paddington Bear Experience and the London Eye. Kids meal options include chicken nuggets, eggs and baked beans and grilled halloumi with waffle fries. Kids meal boxes also come with a choice of juice, water or milk.
