Celebrate a Leap Year birthday with a free London Eye ride
If your birthday is 29 February get down to South Bank this year for a free ride on the...
Come Christmas time in London you can barely move for melted French cheese. As soon as the Christmas lights go up, all those fun Alpine pop-ups appear. Sadly for fondue and racelette fans, just as soon as they appear, with the arrival of January all that cheesy goodness is suddenly gone again...
Not so at Brasserie Blanc on Belvedere Road opposite the Royal Festival Hall however! To get you through the last weeks of winter, from 15 February until 21 March 2024, the restaurant is celebrating the best in Alpine comfort food every Thursday evening from 6:30pm as part of the new C'est Cheese season.
Choose from a range of the most indulgent cheese courses that celebrate the best of French Alpine cuisine. You won't find any gimmicky 'racelette fries' here. The C'est Cheese menu is all about the classics.
Tartiflette is of course a house special, made with soft new potatoes, salty bacon lardons, sweet onion confit- and garlic-infused cream and with plenty of gruyere cheese it comes served with sliced baguette.
There’s also a cheese raclette for one. Each guest receives their own individual raclette warming tray to gently melt their raclette cheese for pouring over a selection of charcuterie, new potatoes, cornichons, fresh salad leaves and warm sliced baguette.
There’s also a cheese fondue on the menu (for two to share). Made with four cheeses; beaufort, comté, tome de franche-comté, and emménthal, the Brasserie Blanc fondue is mixed with kirsch and white wine and served with a charcuterie selection, new potatoes, cornichons, fresh salad leaves with dijon mustard dressing and crispy diced croutons.
And to top it off there’s a baked St Marcellin cheese with truffle honey for dessert served with fresher warm sliced baguette, celery, apricots, fig and almond cake and quince jelly.
The C’est Cheese menu is served at Brasserie Blanc South Bank (9 Belvedere Road, opposite Royal Festival Hall) every Thursday from 6:30pm until 21 March 2024. Booking is recommended!
