October is here which means it's spooky season again!

From ghost tours to horror film screenings and Halloween-themed parties, take a look at the biggest and best Halloween events happening in South Bank this year.

Sinister Seance at The London Dungeon

FRI 18 OCT – MON 4 NOV
Nobody does Halloween quite like London's ultimate fright-fest adventure the London Dungeon. This Halloween, the Dungeon invites daring souls to step into the Victorian Medium’s shadowy parlour for an unprecedented séance experience.

Make your way through the streets of Victorian London where you will meet the legendary psychic Agnes Guppy. Place your hands on the Ouija board and brace yourselves as she attempts to make contact with the spirit world and resurrect a terrifying figure from the past!

Halloween at the BFI

SAT 26 OCT – THU 31 OCT 
Watch a horror classic on the big screen at the BFI Southbank this Halloween. This year's Halloween big feature is John Carpenter's iconic 1978 film Halloween, which sees a young Jamie Lee Curtis relentlessly pursued by the homicidal masked killer Mike Myers. Showing from October 26, there's an extra special screening at the NFT1 on the night of October 31.

Meanwhile, at the BFI IMAX Stanley Kubrick’s terrifying masterpiece The Shining is showing on Sun 27 Oct at 11am.

Donnie Darko's Halloween House Party

FRI 1 NOV

For one night only immersive experience designers Cinesthesia together with house party curators Lab 54 bring the Donnie Darko universe to life in an 80's Halloween House Party setting hosted at the 26 Leake Street venue in the tunnels beneath Waterloo Station. Guests are encouraged to dress in 80s Halloween attire as they prepare to enter the Darko house where "actors, live music, film screening, and tech-enhanced visuals, creating an engaging, dream-like experience that mirrors the tangent universe". Scared Shrekless at Shrek’s Adventure

SAT 26 OCT – SUN 3 NOV 
This Halloween a scary fairytale witch is flying into Shrek’s Adventure and surprising visitors with tricks, treats and photo opportunities!

You can also meet other favourite fairytale characters like Sleeping Beauty, the Muffin Man, Pinocchio, Cinderella and of course Shrek himself, while also getting to mix potions, pet dragons and take a ride on a magical 4-D bus at this whimsical immersive family experience.  > FIND OUT MORE

Fright on the Thames

SAT 26 OCT – SUN 3 NOV 
Embark on a 40-minute ghost tour boat journey with London Eye River Cruises along the Thames and learn about infamous horrifying stories of creepy murderers and angry ghosts from London’s past.

Listen out for the phantom cries that haunt the bridges crossing the river and watch as the spooky on-board actors share London’s most terrifying ghost stories.  Tickets include a “murky mulled wine” to enjoy while you cruise the river (non-alcoholic options are also available). > FIND OUT MORE

UKG Bingo: Nightmare in Joker House Halloween Special

FRI OCT 25 from 6:30pm
UK Garage Bingo, the unique club night that mixes garage bangers with bingo games, dance competitions and the sassiest hosts in town, returns to Between the Bridges for a special Halloween edition. In addition to the usual mix of fun, games and music, the venue will be decked out in full Halloween decoration setting the scene for this raucous event. Tickets from £18.  This event is 18+.

Freaky Friday at 12th Knot

FRI 1 NOV from 6pm
The glam rooftop cocktail bar at Sea Containers London kicks off its all-new Friday night party series Grey Goose Lates with a Halloween special. The DJs leading the Freaky Friday funk, house and disco sets are Jess Iszatt (BBC 1Xtra) and Scarlett O'Malley (Rinse FM) plus a special headline guest to be announced, while the Halloween dress code for the night suggests to "bring your sparkle and bring your spook". The Monster Mash Bowling Bash at BrewDog Waterloo

MON 28 OCT – FRI 1 NOV
This year Halloween coincides with half-term and BrewDog Waterloo has some Halloween-themed family offers in store. As part of the Monster Mash Bowling Bash, for £10 the kids get 30 minutes of bowling, a Halloween-themed ice cream and a scavenger hunt.  Pre-book a morning lane (before 12pm) and the kids can play duckpin bowling for free!

There's also a kids eat for free promo running throughout the week if you pre-book a table, and on Wed 30 Oct, Thu 31 Oct and Fri 1 Nov there's free kids face painting and Halloween-themed arts and crafts to join in too. > FIND OUT MORE
