South Bank London

Tickets to see London's New Year's Eve fireworks are now on sale!

23 rd October 2026

The capital’s biggest night of the year will once again see tens of thousands of ticket-holders gather by the river to watch the Mayor of London's incredible fireworks display in front of South Bank’s iconic London Eye.

To ensure the event is safe and fun for all, since 2014 London’s New Year’s Eve fireworks show has been hosted as a ticketed event. Every penny from ticket sales is used to pay for the additional costs of delivering an event of this scale.

If you want to watch the fireworks from the dedicated central London viewing areas, you must have secured a ticket in advance!

Where can I buy a ticket to watch the fireworks?

Tickets can only be purchased from this year’s official ticket sale outlet Ticketmaster. Tickets purchased through any other agents will not be accepted on the entrance gates.

How much do the fireworks viewing tickets cost?

Tickets cost from between £40 and £55 each, depending on which area you will be watching from. Those living in a London postcode will receive a discount of £20 on all tickets.

To receive your £20 off London resident discount you will need to verify your postcode at the purchase stage of booking. Verification will be based on the billing address attached to the card used to make the booking.

How do I access the South Bank on New Year’s Eve?

Note that from the late afternoon on New Year’s Eve, much of the South Bank is closed to vehicles and during the evening of the event access is strictly restricted to ticket holders only.

If you don’t have a ticket to view the fireworks, you will not be allowed through the temporary barriers. If you do have a ticket, make sure to follow carefully the instructions and correspondence received with your tickets about how to access the fireworks viewing areas in South Bank, as the routes leading up to the entrance gates can be quite long.

You will need to show your tickets at the entrance gates to access the viewing areas. To manage any incidents of ticket touting, the main ticket buyer may also be asked to show photo ID at the entry gate.

If you are here to attend a party at one of South Bank's restaurants or hotels, follow the entrance instructions provided by the venue very carefully well in advance of the day to ensure you don't miss your booking.

On the map above, you can see the locations of the access points to the different coloured ticketed fireworks viewing areas. Note that if you have a viewing ticket to watch in South Bank, you must enter the neighbourhood from the south of the river.

See the official Mayor of London New Year's Eve page here for full details on ticketing and access to the fireworks viewing areas.

Can I book for a restaurant in South Bank if I don't have fireworks viewing tickets?

If you would like to join in the atmosphere on the South Bank but couldn’t get your hands on a viewing ticket, several South Bank restaurants are hosting special New Year’s Eve parties.

Restaurants located inside the fireworks viewing areas (such as on Belvedere Road or at the Southbank Centre), will provide their guests with special access tickets as part of their New Year's Eve package.  As with all viewing tickets, you must only access the coloured area that you have been designated via the indicated entrance gate.

You must pay close attention to the exact instructions provided to you by the venue when you book, including following any details about required entrance tickets supplied by the venue to ensure you can access the venue in time for your booking.

Plan your travel carefully in advance as access to South Bank is strictly controlled on New Year’s Eve and there may be long queues at security and ticket check points. Public transport will also be particularly busy on this night.

How do I book a ticket to join a New Year's Eve party in South Bank?

It is advised to book for these parties well in advance!

Most venues also expect you to pay a deposit to secure your booking.

You can find a guide to all the South Bank restaurants hosting New Year's Eve parties that you can book here.

Note that not all South Bank restaurants are located inside the fireworks viewing areas. Bookings for parties at restaurants not inside the viewing areas will not include access to ticketed areas.
