New Mochi House pop-up now open in County Hall

26 th June 2026

Brought to County Hall by the same team behind super authentic Japanese foodie spots Donabe (for authentic clay pot rice) and Jeux Jeux (for Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki), Mochi House is a little café specialising in handcrafted Japanese mochi.

Inspired by the tea houses of Kyoto, the menu celebrates the delights of handmade mochi with traditional flavours like Sakura and red bean paste.

There's also a host of other special Kyoto desserts such as fluffy dorayaki pancakes and a signature matcha parfait on the menu, as well as premium matcha drinks (those in the know will know that the premium Japanese matcha hits differently and is not necessarily widely available!).

Everything is handcrafted daily and when the day’s batches are gone they’re gone, so get down early if you want to try their exceptional Ichigo Daifuku (strawberry mochi)!

Where is Mochi House?

Located inside the County Hall, this hidden spot is relatively tricky to find. Enter County Hall from the central entrance on Belvedere Road (where the entrance for Witness for the Prosecution is), then follow the signs leading along the corridor on your left until you reach Mochi House.

When is it open?

Mochi House is open Tue–Sun 10:00–16:30
