Daily 12pm-10pm
Located inside the grand County Hall building, Okan is an intimate little eatery inspired by the traditional back alley dining rooms of Osaka, Japan.
Okan's tiny dining room barely seats more than 20 diners who can perch at the counter looking into the open kitchen or on one of the small tables seating up to four (booking is recommended!). It's an atmospheric little space that feels very reminiscent of the back streets of Japan, especially as it is so popular with the local Japanese community.
Chef and founder Moto Priestman arrived in London from Osaka in 1998 and has devoted her time in the city to promoting the traditional cuisine of the Osaka region. She now has three Okan restaurants in South London, all of them are known especially for their traditional okonomiyaki street food-style dishes and otsumami Japanese tapas.
