The Sidings
A new shopping and leisure precinct adjoining Waterloo Station.
On Wednesday 12 June a brand new community piano debuts at one of Britain's busiest train stations, Waterloo Station.
Located in the ‘orchestra pit’ next to the entrance to The Sidings (near platforms 20–24), the new community piano will be free to play all day long.
The installation of the piano has been championed by Morley College London who have worked together with local partners to bring a permanent piano to the station.
Over the coming months, Morley College plans to bring a series of concerts to the station piano, kicking off with a special afternoon performance by Morley College music students on Wednesday 12 June as part of the official launch event.
Home to some of the most famous concert halls in the world, South Bank has long been synonymous with music. We're excited to see the many inspiring impromptu performances that talented, music-loving commuters will bring to this perfectly located new piano!
The new piano is located in the orchestra pit (pictured top) next to Black Sheep Coffee at The Sidings. From the station concourse level head towards the Windrush statue near platforms 20-24 and you will find the orchestra pit just below you.
