This deceptively large branch of the popular London bookshop chain Foyles is located in what was once Waterloo Station’s waiting room and ticket hall. The original grand windows and the old-fashioned ticket booths have been charmingly preserved, adding extra character to this inviting bookshop.
Foyles now has five branches in London, including a second South Bank branch at the Royal Festival Hall, and is known for its highly knowledgeable staff and expertly considered selection of books that range from the latest thrillers to hard-hitting history books.
The bookshop underwent a substantial renovation in 2023 revealing more of the original brickwork of the historic space. The mezzanine areas upstairs have also been upgraded to make this the perfect place to take time out to find a book to enjoy on the train home or pick up a gift for someone special.
