Free kids lunches in South Bank this half-term

When it comes to fun places to take the family for a day out in London during the school holidays – there are few neighbourhoods with more activities for families than South Bank! 

From walkthrough adventures like The Paddington Bear Experience to engaging family shows at the Southbank Centre, there's plenty for families to look forward to during the holidays.

If you’re planning on grabbing lunch while you're here, you’ll be pleased to know that South Bank’s restaurants and cafes are very welcoming to families, with most venues offering dedicated kids menus and high chairs for the little ones.

This half-term many South Bank restaurants are also running free lunch promotions for families, meaning you can save those packed lunches for enjoying on the ride home!

Here's a look at the top deals for families in South Bank during this February half-term:

PizzaExpress

WHEN: Kids eat for free from Mon 17 February to Sunday 2 March 
WHAT: Get one free Piccolo meal for every adult main purchased (valid for eat-in only). Subject to availability, find out more here.

A reliably family-friendly chain that never fails, South Bank's branch of PizzaExpress is located right behind the Southbank Centre's Royal Festival Hall, just a short walk from the London Eye and Jubilee Gardens playground. The Piccolo Kids menu offers dough balls, a choice of kids' pizza or pasta and a dessert plus a 'bambinoccino' (frothed milk) that also comes with an activity pack to keep the kids busy.

Comptoir Libanais

WHEN: Mon 17 February to Mon 24 February
WHAT: Free kids meal with every adult who spends £15 or more ​​(maximum 3 children per table). Kids meals for under 10s only

The South Bank branch of this colourful Lebanese restaurant chain is located on the pedestrianised Mandela Walk next to Royal Festival Hall, perfect if you're here for Southbank Centre's family festival Imagine. The kid's meal includes a main dish – options include cheesy chicken on flatbread, chicken Taouk bites or the Mezze Adventure Platter with hummus, labneh, vegetable sticks, falafel and pita bread – plus a fruity drink and a scoop of ice cream for dessert.

BrewDog Waterloo

WHEN: Kids eat for free Sat 15 February to Sun 23 February
WHAT: Free kids menu meals for every adult main ordered (kids should be aged 13 and under). You must book a table online in advance to redeem this offer. 

The massive BrewDog at The Sidings at Waterloo Station is famously a place where adults who haven't forgotten the child inside can have fun, with duckpin bowling lanes and a huge indoor slide.  A family-friendly spot, kids are allowed inside the pub too (until 8pm) and there's a great kids food menu that features all the classics like cheese toasties, mac and cheese, pizzas and breaded chicken strips. For afters there's even an ice-cream van!

Las Iguanas

WHEN: Throughout the year
WHAT: Free kids meal for every adult main course when you download the My Iguanas app

'Wacky tacos', veggie nuggets, crispy fish fingers and 'chicken crunchies' all feature on the fun Las Iguanas Niños Meals menu. The Niños meal includes a choice of main, plus two sides (with options such as curly fries, rice or sweetcorn) and ice cream, brownies or churros for dessert. The kids meal usually costs £7.25 per child although now if you download the new My Igauanas app you can get one child's meal for free for every adult main ordered! Mamuska!

WHEN: Every weekend and during half-term holidays 
WHAT: For every adult main course, children under 12 get their choice of dish from the kids menu for free.

Mamuska! is South Bank's very own Polish bar and kitchen and one of only a few Polish restaurants in central London! Located in an old railway arch just off the Leake Street graffiti tunnel, the location is quirky and spacious and the space even has a self-serve salad bar! The kids menu options lean right into no-fuss favourites; choose from fish fingers and chips, chicken and chips or Polish pierogi, all served with a choice of Mamuśka salads.
