Celebrating South Bank’s diverse creative community, the quirky Gabriel’s Wharf courtyard hosts this free Black History Month celebration on Sunday 29 October.
There are plenty of activities lined up throughout the afternoon to keep you entertained including DJs, live music, a drumming workshop (suitable for kids and adults), storytelling, a travelling book club, face-painting and more. Plus of course, some jerk chicken and a rum cocktail from Gabriel’s Wharf’s Caribbean restaurant Limin’ is a must!
The lineup for the celebration includes: spellbinding storytelling from The Cowfoot Prince, an award-winning performer and educator with his roots in multicultural Sierra Leone, Gullah Folk tales from the Georgia Coast shared by storyteller Yazidu, reggae hits from Paulette Tajah, a DJ set by DJ Abba and Book Love’s Travelling Multicultural Book Carnival.
