The Old Vic’s stunning new annex Backstage
The Old Vic has expanded its space for the first time in 200 years with this impressive six-storey annex
The Sound of Music soundtrack album was produced and distributed by Decca Records in New Malden (in south west London) in 1965. It topped the UK album charts for 70 weeks in total between 1965 and 1968 and is still a much-loved family classic today.
To celebrate this 60th anniversary, fans can join in a mass sing-along around the piano at The Sidings in Waterloo Station. No singing experience is required as you will be led by a choir who will be leading the singing of hits including: Sixteen Going on Seventeen, I Have Confidence, Maria and The Sound of Music.
Leaning fully into the Sound of Music fandom, the public is invited to come sing the songs from the album dressed in nuns' costumes, while there’ll also be plenty of Liesels, Marias and Captain von Trapp’s in attendance too!
On Saturday 6 December at 11:30 and 12:30.
