For their latest exhibition, contemporary ceramics gallery County Hall Pottery presents this group exhibition featuring works inspired by the layers of undergrowth beneath trees and plants.
This ecosystem plays a vital role in supporting biodiversity, providing shelter and food for wildlife, and contributing to the cycle of decomposition and nutrient recycling in the soil. Meanwhile, metaphorically, the theme of undergrowth symbolises the hidden, often overlooked layers of existence, ideas and processes operating beneath the surface. The artists featured in this exhibition explore these themes through their unique ceramic works.
There are a variety of events taking place as part of the exhibition, including;
Mon 12 Jan from 6pm | Launch Party
Thu 15 Jan from 6pm | Artist Dinner
Sat 7 Mar at 2pm | Curator Talk/Tour with curated Elizabeth Jackson and Emily Stapleton Jefferis
Sun 22 Feb, 2pm–5pm | Studio Masterclass: Handbuilding from extrusion with Elizabeth Jackson
Sun 22 Feb, 10am–1pm | Studio Masterclass: From Micro to Macro Handbuilding Nature with Emily Stapleton Jeffries
