Launched during London Craft Week 2024, County Hall Pottery is a new art gallery and studio funded by County Hall Arts and led by artists Emma Louise Payne and Yasemin Gava.
The gallery occupies a 1,800-square-foot space on the ground floor of the historic County Hall building with French windows that open out onto internal courtyards on both sides. In addition to the gallery there is a lower ground floor studio space with its own kiln, artist residency studio and facilities for teaching pottery skills.
Director Emma Louise Payne explains that the gallery strives to be “a one-stop-shop for pottery with an aim to support the art form in all its stages and guises”.
Looking for a hands-on creative activity where you can learn something new while meeting new people? County Hall Pottery's classes may be the answer!
From beginners to regular pottery hobbyists, County Hall Pottery offers a variety of courses designed to help you master the art of ceramics in a supportive and inspiring environment. There's a choice of half-day and full-day classes and short and other fun workshops such as wheel throwing for beginners. Best of all - your creations will also get glazed and fired for you to collect in a few weeks time and enjoy at home!
During the run-up to Christmas look out for various festive gift-making classes where you'll learn how to make pinch pot baubles, candle holders, mugs and a gingerbread house lantern. Find out more about what's on offer here and book your place.
The gallery is located inside County Hall on the ground floor. Enter the building at the central entrance on Belvedere Road (where Witness for the Prosecution is). Follow the long corridor on your left down until you see the red door of the gallery.
