Nan Goldin: You Never Did Anything Wrong

Over the past five decades, Nan Goldin has photographed personal relationships, addiction and queer subcultures, forming an episodic autobiography she calls ‘a record of my life that no one can revise.’

Through her fifty-year career her unflinching images have fearlessly probed at the depths of the human condition. Closing the distance between the observer and the observed through her inimitable lens, Goldin's work continues to capture intimate and raw moments from everyday life of the universal experiences of love and loss.

This exhibition highlights four of Goldin’s powerful recent films: Memory Lost (2019–2021), which chronicles her personal history with drugs and addiction; Stendhal Syndrome (2024), You Never Did Anything Wrong, Part I (2024), and its new companion, You Never Did Anything Wrong, Part II (2026).

Accompanying these films is a series of photographic stills and images from Goldin’s archive.

Goldin’s extraordinary perspective, seen through the lens of her camera, invites you to understand how personal experience and political action are interconnected, revealing both the joy and sorrow of the human condition.
