The 69th edition of the BFI London Film Festival brings more than 250 new films to the South Bank to make their cinematic debut on the biggest screens in town.
Taking place from 8-19 October, the UK's biggest film event spreads out across the South Bank with film screenings and events happening at the BFI Southbank, BFI IMAX and at the Southbank Centre's Royal Festival Hall.
The LFF programme is huge, covering all genres of cinema from across the world, including plenty of indie and mainstream film premieres. For film lovers, this is one of London's most exciting film celebrations.
Every year, the London Film Festival is the venue for a host of world premieres of major new British films and visitors can also look forward to a slew of glamorous red carpet events happening by the river every day of the week.
Among the many highlights of the extensive festival programme are the 'Gala Screenings'. These special red carpet premieres see the biggest Hollywood stars descending on the South Bank to launch what often go on to become major Oscar contenders. Screenings take place at the Royal Festival Hall where you can buy tickets to watch the screening, or simply join the queue for a spot to watch London's glitziest red carpet.

Wed 8 Oct WAKE UP DEAD MAN: A KNIVES OUT MYSTERY
The latest film starring Daniel Craig as private detective Benoit Blanc, gets its international premiere here in South Bank. The colourful cast of suspects in this latest film include, Josh O’Connor, Glenn Close, Josh Brolin, Mila Kunis, Jeremy Renner, Kerry Washington and Andrew Scott.
10 Oct JAY KELLY
The new comedy-drama from director Noah Baumbach, starring George Clooney as a famous actor who is on a whirlwind journey through Europe with his manager (Adam Sandler) and his publicist (Laura Dern).

Brendan Fraser plays an American actor living in Tokyo who struggles to find purpose until he lands an unusual gig: working for a Japanese "rental family" agency, playing stand-in roles for strangers.
19 Oct 1000 NIGHTS OF HERO
Julia Jackman directs this bold and beautiful fairytale based on Isabel Greenberg’s graphic novel, with an eclectic cast of hot young stars including Emma Corrin, Nicholas Galitzine, Charli XCX and and Felicity Jones.
Another big highlight of the annual festival programme are the Screen Talks, which see some of the biggest names in contemporary filmmaking discussing their work. This year's line-up of Screen Talks includes interviews with Daniel Day-Lewis, Yorgos Lanthimos, Richard Linklater, Jafar Panahi, Lynne Ramsay, Tessa Thompson and Chloé Zhao.
