This October, in collaboration with felloe, the Garden Museum hosts its second annual Harvest Festival. This year's festival is curated around the theme of ‘Common Ground’ and promises to be "a celebration of the many meaningful ways food connects us".
Visitors can look forward to live interactive cooking demos in the Learning Studio Kitchen, including e5 Bakehouse milling heritage wheat and making sourdough crackers from the fresh flour, and a live biangbiang noodle-pulling demo with the star of Netflix’s Chef’s Table, Guirong Wei (advanced booking is required).
Meanwhile, talks will take place in the Clore Learning Space, covering topics such as the shared food rituals of breaking bread, how top chefs design menus rooted in the rhythms of growing and shaped by the seasons, and how we might rekindle reciprocity with the land through our relationship with trees.
For those who also grow their own, Incredible Edible Lambeth is back with a Seed Swap. Bring your spare seeds, swap stories, and take home something new to grow. Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or just starting out, this is a chance to share knowledge and discover unusual varieties.
And of course it wouldn't be a Harvest Festival without plenty of fresh produce to buy! Producers, growers and makers setting up stalls at the museum include Natoora, Bold Bean Co, Breadwinners, The Honey Project, The Ferm, Comins Tea, Heckfield Home Farm, and Vegelicious of Hadleigh.
And finally, adding to the festive atmosphere, there's a live performance from the London Vegetable Orchestra, playing instruments crafted entirely from vegetables!
