Meet the makers with two weekends of free art, live music and performance
Sat 6 Sep and Sat 20 Sep from 12pm–6pm
Entrance is free
Gabriel’s Wharf is South Bank’s original pop-up enclave, home to an eclectic selection of small, owner-run businesses with a focus on the handmade and the sustainable.
On two Saturdays in September, Gabriel’s Wharf hosts an arts celebration with free art workshops, live music and performances all on the programme. Highlights across both weekends include performances by poet Tia-zakura whose unique style blends storytelling and rhyming patterns and free creative crafting activities for families, including bunting-making at painting.
Saturday 6 September
Enjoy an eclectic programme featuring Japanese drumming from Tamashii School of Wadaikoo-Do, acclaimed all-female choir City Academy Songbirds, guitar solos from mex.fS and Jamie Rudd, plus a reading from author Tom Chivers as he delves into his new book London Clay: Journeys in the Deep City.
Saturday 20 September
This Saturday, visitors can look forward to performances from New Orleans-style jazz group Doolally Tap, award-winning duo Alina Bzhezhinska (harp) & Tony Kofi (saxophone), duo Danusia Samal (vocals) and Ed Gaughan (guitar), plus mex.fS returns.
