BFI Christmas films

What better way to get in the festive spirit – and escape the chilly weather for a few hours – than by heading to the cinema to watch a Christmas classic?!

This winter’s Christmas film season at the BFI includes plenty of festive classics both old and new.

Among the many highlights are family favourites such as The Muppet Christmas Carol, The Miracle on 34th Street and Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas, as well as screenings selected by the queer film festival BFI Flare; the critically-acclaimed Carol and micro-budget comedy-drama Tangerine.

There are also festive screenings taking place at the biggest cinema screen in Britain, the epic BFI IMAX. Join the fun with IMAX screenings of Elf (celebrating its 20th anniversary this year), The Polar Express 3D, and on Sat 16 Dec, the IMAX is even screening the iconic Die Hard.
