BFI Christmas films

What better way to get in the festive spirit – and escape the chilly weather for a few hours – than by heading to the cinema to watch a Christmas classic?! As ever, December’s Christmas film season at the BFI includes plenty of festive favourites, both old and new.

Among the many highlights on this year's lineup are iconic old school classics such as: Meet Me in St Louis,  Scrooge, The Apartment and It's A Wonderful Life, as well as family favourites such as The Muppet Christmas Carol (6 and 21 Dec) and Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas (14 and 20 Dec).

Meanwhile, at the biggest cinema screen in Britain, the epic BFI IMAX, there are even more festive screenings lined up, including The Wizard of Oz, The Polar Express, the gorgeous Japanese anime Tokyo Godfathers and, of course, the iconic Die Hard.
