BFI Christmas films

What better way to get in the festive spirit – and escape the chilly weather for a few hours – than by heading to the cinema to watch a Christmas classic?!

This winter’s Christmas film season at the BFI includes plenty of festive favourites both old and new.

Among the many highlights are iconic Christmas films such as The Shop Around the Corner, The Apartment, Scrooge and It's A Wonderful Life. There's also a great programme of 'Christmas-adjacent' films on the bill that feature scenes set at Christmas time or that have a special Christmas association such as Carol, Monty Python's Life of Brian and Little Women.

Meanwhile, at the biggest cinema screen in Britain, the epic BFI IMAX, there are even more festive screenings lined up including Powell & Pressburger's The Red Shoes, The Wizard of Oz, The Polar Express, the gorgeous Japanese anime Tokyo Godfathers and, of course, the iconic Die Hard.
