The Vaults is South Bank and Waterloo’s off-West End home for edgy and immersive alternative arts and theatre. Set in a maze of disused railway arches beneath Waterloo Station, The Vaults is quite literally an underground venue.
Accessed via the famous Leake Street graffiti tunnel, inside, The Vaults is a sprawling labyrinth of railway arches that present a blank canvas for creative minds who have a natural affinity to the unusual, the daring and the unknown.
The Vaults' mission is “to collaborate and conspire”. They regularly commission new stage works, many of which have gone on to garner effusive critical acclaim such as the hit parody musicals Mulan Rouge, Stranger Sings and The Witches of Oz, and are particularly well-known for London’s queer theatre and cabaret scene.
