From April through to October the pretty rooftop garden oasis on top of the Queen Elizabeth Hall opens to the public, providing a lovely corner of nature in the midst of South Bank’s brutalist concrete.
The rooftop garden offers plenty of seating under the shade of fruit trees and amongst the more than 200 native plant species that grow in this surprisingly lush garden. In the height of summer this is a particularly lovely spot to meet up with friends before a show.
The small café-bar counter is housed in a reused shipping container and serves a variety of refreshments including wines, craft beers, summer cocktails and soft drinks plus loaded flatbreads and small bites for snacking on.
