In 2005 master baker Gail Mejia launched the first Gail’s Bakery, an off-shoot of her wholesale baking business The Bread Factory, and London’s bakery scene has never been quite the same since!
There are now more than 100 branches of Gail’s in and around London, and at each store the original devotion to baking the best handmade bread, pastries and cakes daily remains the same. Add in Gail's carefully-sourced house blend speciality coffee and you have a winning formula that often has regulars queuing out the door at lunch times.
There are several branches of Gail’s in and around South Bank, including on York Road near the London Eye, where you can eat-in and if you are lucky grab one of the streetside tables that look right onto the wheel.
There's also a branch at One Blackfriars Road and on The Cut near The Old Vic theatre.
