Azzuro Italian Kitchen & Bar

This all-day Italian restaurant and bar occupies one of the distinctive railway arches that curve out of Waterloo Station. The station itself is just across the road while South Bank’s major cultural venues such as Southbank Centre, BFI and the National Theatre are just five minutes’ walk away.

The Azzurro menu is a classic pizza and pasta affair packed with favourites like spaghetti carbonara or tagliatelle funghi. There’s also a choice of risottos and salads, tasty antipasti plates designed for sharing and kids get to choose from their own kiddies menu. At lunch times the lunch deal (available daily from 11am to 4pm) is great value and NHS workers get 10% off everything at all times (except during December).

For those warm al fresco evenings, there’s a large streetside terrace that wraps itself around the front of the restaurant and stretches down underneath the railway bridge.

For private events it’s possible to book the terrace or the mezzanine or ‘tunnel’ areas of the restaurant inside (suitable for dinners of up to 30 people).
