Art Yard is the bar and restaurant at South Bank’s art-focused Bankside boutique hotel. An informal all-day restaurant serving fresh seasonal food, from the décor to the dishes, there’s an emphasis on creativity.
The formal dining spaces and more casual café-bar areas are all filled with contemporary artworks, both big and small, created by local artists. The hotel even has its own artist-in-residence that champions up-and-coming creatives and guests are encouraged to drop by and see the artist-in-residence at work.
Start the day with coffee or launch the evening with cocktails and wine. Dishes on the all-day menu are carefully curated to stir a sensory explosion, while the bar menu includes a cocktail collection playfully inspired by colour.
If you are in the area to enjoy some of the many cultural attractions, make sure to take advantage of Art Yard’s fantastic 'Culture Curious' offer. Guests get 20% off food and drink, if they can show a ticket from their visit to any of South Bank or Bankside's nearby galleries, theatres or other cultural attractions! Note you need to present your tickets before placing orders.
Whether it’s cocktails with colleagues or a friendsmas get-together, Art Yard's special festive season fixed-price three-course menu hits the spot. For £45pp you get a welcome drink and mince pies plus a starter, main and dessert. Dishes on the menu include chicken live parfait, roast turkey, ox cheek bourguignon and caramel sticky toffee pudding.
Art Yard Bar & Kitchen has weekend brunch down to fine art, delicious food, free-flowing drinks, a creative setting, and a top location amongst the South Bank's galleries, theatres, and cultural landmarks.
The brunch menu offers delicious food and drinks, some healthy, some positively naughty. Signature serves include Burford Brown Bennies, Chef's take on the egg classics, made with Clarence Court Burford Brown eggs and served on a rich croissant base. For those with a sweet tooth, there's a creative taco-style pancake platter and an indulgent French Toast Tiramisu. To elevate the brunch experience guests can choose from a range of free-flowing drink options including mimosas, prosecco, bloody Marys and non-alcoholic spritz.
Brunch at Art Yard also offers free-flowing culture inside and out. Inside art and murals adorn the walls, and then there's the Maker's Studio, a permanent space where emerging artists can create and showcase their work. Downstairs in Bankside Hotel's White Box visitors can browse 'Nature's Imprint' an exhibition that explores environmental issues and sustainable living practices through art. Outside, the Tate Modern and Southbank Centre are just minutes away, making Art Yard a great place to hang out before or after exploring all the creative South Bank has to offer.
Combine your meal at Art Yard with a visit to the Bankside Hotel's White Box event space where their latest exhibition Nature’s Imprint: A Journey Through Time and Art is on display.
A collaboration with Contemporary Collective and DegreeArt Gallery, the exhibition explores the relationships between nature, sustainability, and artistic expression, reflecting on how artists engage with environmental concerns and advocate for sustainable practices through their art. Entrance is free!
