Łukasz Twarkowski, one of Poland’s most exciting directors, makes his hotly anticipated London debut with this unique adaptation of Olga Ravn’s Booker Prize-nominated dystopian sci-fi epic The Employees.
The story of The Employees unfolds in an undetermined near future, on a spaceship carrying people, humanoid robots – and a collection of strange alien objects that they have found on a distant planet.
Employees of the 6000 Spaceship, under the watchful eye of a mysterious Organisation, are exploring the New Discovered – a planet far away from Earth. The routine of everyday life is suddenly interrupted when, with the help of mysterious objects, a longing for Earth awakens their innermost desires, and causes them to question the very nature of their own consciousness.
Performed in Polish with English subtitles.
Seating is unreserved and audiences can move around between acts to experience the performance from different points of view. This performance is for audiences aged 16+, contains nudity, strobe lights, smoke and very loud music and is not recommended for people with epilepsy.
