Southbank Centre marks its 75th birthday with this spectacular two-day takeover.
Ticket information will be announced in early 2026
In 2026 the Southbank Centre marks the 75th anniversary of the opening of the Festival of Britain, a huge, nationwide event that marked the birth of the Southbank Centre – as well as the revitalisation of the wider South Bank area into the world-famous cultural neighbourhood we know and love today.
As part of a year-long programme of exciting events marking their 75th year, the Southbank Centre celebrates the birthday of the Festival of Britain (which opened on 3 May, 1951) with this spectacular event created, directed and designed by Danny Boyle, Gareth Pugh and Carson McColl, with collaborators Paulette Randall and Sabrina Mahfouz.
Explore the whole Southbank Centre site to enjoy improbable sound clashes, massed choreography, art, film, live music and spoken word inspired by youth scenes and counterculture from 1951 to now.
Rebellion meets euphoria, as an epic cast of performers brings history to life on a trip from punk to grime, northern soul to acid house, dancehall to disco. Channelling the joy, wit and supreme originality of generations of young people who have driven British culture forward, this promises to be an unforgettable celebration of the impact of British youth culture on music, fashion and rebellious politics.
More information about You Are Here, including how to get tickets, will be released in early 2026.
