This May the actor and producer Tom Cruise becomes the latest Hollywood legend to be bestowed with the BFI’s highest honour, a BFI Fellowship, joining the ranks of icons such as Christopher Nolan, Martin Scorsese and Elizabeth Taylor.

Marking the occasion, the BFI presents this blockbuster film season featuring 28 of Cruise’s most famous films, showcasing the star’s extraordinarily diverse talents.

Scorsese, Spielberg, Mann and Kubrick, Tom Cruise has worked with scores of legendary directors and acted alongside some of the biggest names in Hollywood. Throughout his career, he has shown an extraordinary dedication to nailing the details and immersing himself in his characters. From learning Japanese for the Last Samurai to undergoing rigorous fighter pilot training for the Top Gun films, he is often described as one of Hollywood’s hardest-working stars.

This season aims to show Tom Cruise’s extraordinary range, featuring a variety of brilliant action films such as Top Gun, Maverick War of the Worlds and Jack Reacher, to loveable comedies like Jerry Maguire and Risky Business, and weighty dramas such as Born on the Fourth of July, A few Good Men, Collateral and Magnolia.

Mission Impossible also, of course, features prominently in this blockbuster season of screenings. Fans can look forward to marathon Mission Impossible screenings at the BFI IMAX (with three films in each marathon), plus the chance to watch the new Mission Impossible film; Dead Reckoning Part One on the biggest screen in the UK.
