Sponsored by leading art pencil makers Derwent, the Derwent Art Prize is a leading award for upcoming artists working specifically in pencils.
The shortlisted selection of finalists and winners on show at the gallery was chosen from more than 6,000 entries this year.
The works on display in the exhibition are representative of the huge variety and inventiveness of the medium. On show are works in black and white and colour, intricate photo-realist portraits, captivating abstract creations and dreamy impressionistic scenes. All captured in pencil!
During the exhibition there are also free artist demonstrations to join in at the gallery, showing off the versatility of the pencil medium. Catch the following artist demonstrations at the gallery:
