Every year South Bank and Waterloo Sustains Us, a local programme working to shape a fairer and greener neighbourhood, hosts a lively community afternoon in the gardens at St John's Waterloo church, bringing people together to celebrate local action for a more sustainable future.

This year’s festival is themed around circularity, recycling, reuse and mindful consumption, looking at the everyday and inventive ways that we can create a more circular South Bank and Waterloo.

Expect fun and hands-on activities for all ages, inspiring stalls, live performances and plenty of ways to swap, share, upcycle and repair!

There's plenty of opportunity to swap and recycle, so bring along your quality pre-loved items to join in the Clothes Swap, take part in Waterloo Library's Book Swap, bring along clean clothes you'd like mended/altered by Kundakala and learn how to upskill your own clothing repair skills and have a go at low-waste planting with Bankside Open Spaces Trust.

There's also a children’s art trail in the St John’s wildflower garden, face painting and family arts and crafts for kids, a jam session with Saul Eisenberg's Junk Orchestra, community jazz dancing classes and plenty of prizes to be won throughout the day.
