In an area that offers so much to see and do, it is easy to overlook some of South Bank's most intriguing features.

For this edition of our free South Bank Walks series, led by Lambeth Tour Guides Association we'll be walking across South Bank from Waterloo tube station to Blackfriars Bridge, highlighting hidden gems along the way; some tucked away and others hiding in plain sight.

We'll explore new developments alongside remnants of South Bank's industrial past; see monuments and mosaics; learn about a former warehouse that became a military hospital, a cooperative housing development that thwarted the developers, and finish in an area once famed for hat-making.

* The walk starts at 11.30am and last approximately 1.5 hours. All South Bank Walks are free although booking is essential as space is limited.

Meeting Point: Waterloo tube station entrance on York Road
