From old-school music halls to action movie stunts, explore South Bank’s rich cinematic history on this free walking tour.

This autumn we're launching a brand new series of free monthly walking tours of South Bank! See the neighbourhood from a different perspective while hearing remarkable stories from South Bank’s past and present on these monthly walks led by guides from the Lambeth Tour Guides Association.

Sat Oct 14 at 11:30am | REEL WATERLOO

Coinciding with the 67th edition of the BFI London Film Festival (taking over South Bank from 4-15 October), this walk is dedicated to South Bank’s theatrical and cinematic history.

From Genevieve and Dr Who to Bourne and Mission Impossible, South Bank has long been a popular location for shooting movies. But beyond the big screen Hollywood hits, the streets of SE1 hold an even deeper, rich history of film, cinema and storytelling dating all the way back to the earliest days of London’s music halls.

* Note these tours are free, although prior booking is required as space is limited. If you have booked and find you are unable to attend, please make sure to cancel your tickets so we can create space for more attendees.
