For their autumn-winter special exhibition, the Garden Museum celebrates the work of one of the 20th Century's greatest botanical painters, Scottish artist and folk musician Rory McEwan.
Nature Song includes 50 botanical paintings, plus a selection of sculptures, experimental paintings and works in progress. Displayed alongside his brushes, diaries and other personal items, revealing a unique creative vision that breathed new life into the centuries-old genre of botanical art.
While he is best known for his exquisite botanical watercolours, McEwan was also a pivotal figure in the 1960s folk music revival movement, and his London home was a hub of creativity where artists and musicians such as Bob Dylan and George Harrison spent time.
Accompanying this luminous exhibition is a programme of musical and botanical events.
