Housed inside the St Thomas’ Hospital near Westminster Bridge, this quirky Florence Nightingale Museum explores in detail the life, work and influence of the Lady with the Lamp.
In addition to extensive exhibits that detail the life story of Florence Nightingale, the museum also presents regular temporary exhibitions that delve into the stories of other pioneering nurses such as Mary Seacole, the World War 2 ‘Flying Nightingales’ and Dame Cicely Saunders, the nurse and social worker who is widely recognised as the founder of the modern hospice movement.
Complementing these temporary exhibitions, the museum hosts a monthly Museum Lates evening where there is a chance to explore the museum after-hours, and to hear a guest talk related to the themes explored in the latest exhibitions. There is also a bar serving soft and alcoholic drinks, and all Museum Late tickets are valid for the whole year.
