The entirety of the Queen Elizabeth Hall at Southbank Centre transforms into the set for enthralling durational performances, curated by conceptual artist Marina Abramović and Marina Abramović Institute.
The performances use all available spaces and is self-led, with audiences invited to explore all parts of the building, including the auditorium, Purcell Room, backstage dressing rooms, green rooms, technical spaces and foyer, at their own pace and experience site-specific, long-durational works along the way.
Created by artists including Collective Absentia, Carla Adra, Paula Garcia, Carlos Martiel, Yiannis Pappas, Paul Setúbal, Despina Zacharopoulou, the works engage with the themes of endurance, presence and participation, creating an infinite possibility of encounters between visitors and artists.
Marina Abramović will participate on Wednesday 4 and Sunday 8 October and will be present at other times during the Takeover.
