Directed by Gustavo Dudamel since 1999, Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela has established a reputation for high-energy, ferociously skilled performances.
In 2025 the esteemed orchestra turns 50 years old, and this concert at the Royal Festival Hall promises to be one of the many highlights of their anniversary year, with a fantastically upbeat and atmospheric programme in store.
The evening’s repertoire includes the rip-roaring Symphonic Dances from West Side Story, Bernstein’s overture to Candide, and movements from Manuel de Falla’s impressionistic Nights in the Gardens of Spain and the exuberant Spanish folk influenced The Three-Cornered Hat.
