This May, Mexican director and filmmaker Guillermo Del Toro receives the BFI’s highest honour, a BFI Fellowship. Marking the occasion, the BFI is celebrating the visionary work of this inventive director with a retrospective season playing across the BFI Southbank and BFI IMAX.
In addition to screening all of Del Toro’s feature films, the season will see eight in-person appearances by the director, including three introductions, four Q&As at BFI Southbank and BFI IMAX and an In Conversation event on Fri 8 May as a centrepiece to the season.
Films screening at the BFI Southbank include: Ronos, Mimic, The Devil’s Backbone, Blade II, Hellboy and Hellboy II, Pan’s Labyrinth, Crimson Peak, Tales of Arcadia, The Shape of Water, Nightmare Alley and Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio.
Films screening at the BFI IMAX include: Pacific Rim (3D) on 9 May and Frankenstein on 10 May.
