16 Jun - 16 Jun 2024
This weekend bars and restaurants across South Bank present special offers and menus in celebration of Father's Day. Treat those father figures in your life with a delicious family Sunday lunch, a lazy brunch at your favourite restaurant or drinks and a spot of Euros 2024 action at the pub.
Here are some ideas for where to celebrate in South Bank this year.
The Brasserie on the OXO Tower rooftop serves a beautifully presented sharing plate Sunday lunch menu. Choose from a whole roast chicken or 28-day tomahawk steak, brought to the table for you to carve family-style. The roast comes with plentiful sides including pigs in blankets, Yorkshire puddings, roasted carrots and beef dripping hispi cabbage. For something a bit different there's also a whole roasted seabass (served with grilled vegetables) or a decadent lobster linguine, also presented as a large sharing plate for the table. Find out more and book.
For one day only the elegant bistro Brasserie Blanc opposite the Royal Festival Hall has two delicious sharing roast boards on the special Father's Day menu. Choose from apricot-stuffed pork belly or try the tender Lamb shoulder roulade seasoned with olive tapenade and a salsa verde crumb. Both come with abundant sides including sweet maple glazed carrots, unlimited roasties and gravy, cauliflower cheese, savoy cabbage and Yorkshire puddings. There's also individual roasts (including a vegetarian option), as well as half portions for younger adults and a children’s menu. Find out more and book.
Book a table to celebrate Dad at the colourful Middle Eastern and North African restaurant Comptoir Libanais and take advantage of special Father's Day freebies! Delicious mezze and flavoursome mains are order of the day, and don't forget some signature baklava for dessert.
To mark the occasion Dads get a free Menabrea beer, zero-alcohol beer or any soft drink when you order any mezze and main (minimum of two people). Find out more and book.
Book a table for Father's Day lunch at the Caribbean restaurant and bar Limin' in Gabriel's Wharf this year and dads will get a free beer or glass of wine on the house.
Known for its authentic Trinidadian cuisine including classic doubles and the best jerk chicken around, in summer Limin's spreads out into the courtyard with its own mini beach. Find out more and book here.
If Dad's a big football fan then he'll be looking forward to an exciting Father's Day weekend packed with Euros games to watch. Across South Bank there are scores of places screening the football, including cosy pubs like the Fountain & Ink or The Mulberry Bush (where you can also enjoy a good pub lunch) or book a table at the huge BrewDog Waterloo at The Sidings that has an incredible 17 screens!
There are three fixtures on Sunday 16 June and booking is essential. The Sunday lineup is: Poland vs Netherlands at 2pm, Slovenia vs Denmark at 5pm and the all-important Serbia vs England at 8pm. See our full guide to watching sports in South Bank here.
