Chantal Akerman is best known for her second feature, Jeanne Dielman, 23, quai du Commerce, 1080 Bruxelles, the minimal masterpiece that was voted the number one Greatest Film of All Time in 2022’s Sight and Sound poll.
Coinciding with the re-release of her most famous film, this epic wide-ranging series explores the director’s incredible career and features dozens of films across a variety of genres, ranging from dramas, documentaries and travelogues to comedies, musicals, romances and literary adaptations.
Alongside film screenings, the season also includes a rich selection of screen talks, film intros, Q&As, discussions and the all-day Chantal Akerman Symposium on Saturday 8 March.
