On 3 October 2014, a podcast launched that changed the face of podcasting forever. Serial became the first podcast to win a Peabody Award, and has since been downloaded 420 million times, making it the most listened-to podcast in the history of the form.
Sarah Koenig is the host and co-creator of the award-winning podcast Serial, now heading into its fourth season and credited with bringing mainstream attention to the podcast format. In 2015 Koenig was named one of TIME magazine’s ‘100 Most Influential People’.
Presented in partnership with The International Women’s Podcast Festival with Spotify, Koenig shares her insights and discusses the impacts of investigative journalism on podcasting at this special ten-year anniversary event at the Royal Festival Hall.
