Atrium Café

This busy café in the light-filled atrium of the landmark National Theatre serves coffee and pastries, sandwiches and the freshest salads.

The coffee beans are by Hej, a small local roastery based just down the road in Elephant & Castle, while the rest of the café menu also strives to promote local producers including bread and pastries by Hackney’s Galeta bakery.

For lunch choose from sandwiches, fresh salads and tarts and a small selection of hot dishes including delicious soups. There’s a handful of tables near the counter with great views out of the building’s soaring windows onto the Queen’s Walk, as well as plenty of other spaces to sit further inside the vast atrium.

In addition to the main Atrium Café, there’s also a second Espresso Bar on the other side of the atrium that opens out onto the piazza in front of the theatre, where you can enjoy coffee to sit in or to go.
