Tying in with Southbank Centre’s youth pop culture spectacle You Are Here, which takes over the Southbank Centre today, the BFI presents a packed day of programming that has been entirely conceived, curated and hosted by young people aged 19 to 29.
Drawing from the BFI National Archive, personal collections and memories, and conversations amongst peers and the online ecosystem, Rip It Up explores a kaleidoscope of youth-led cultural movements and conversations, from grime, street dance and YouTube filmmaking to modern dating and the evolution of how teens fill their moments of boredom.
There are 16 different events on the programme, tickets provide access to the full day’s programming, and all sessions are first-come, first-served.
