Housed in the lower-ground floor of the huge County Hall building, the County Hall Pottery studio has its own artist residency and regularly runs classes teaching pottery skills for both beginners and professionals. Ceramic works are then fired at the studio's huge kiln housed inside an old chimney in one of the Edwardian building's grand courtyards.

Director Emma Louise Payne explains that County Hall Pottery strives to be “a one-stop-shop for pottery with an aim to support the art form in all its stages and guises”.

Pottery classes at County Hall

From beginners to regular pottery hobbyists, County Hall Pottery offers a variety of courses designed to help you master the art of ceramics in a supportive and inspiring environment.

There are half-day and full-day classes, as well as short, fun workshops such as beginner wheel-throwing, and the possibility to book your work team in for a creative team-building activity. Best of all – your creations will also get glazed and fired for you to collect in a few weeks' time and enjoy at home!
